An Farm Story
An Farm Hoi An is the passion and dream of me, Ms. Hang, its founder. My journey to founding and developing An Farm is a story of many causes and conditions.
After more than five years working in the food chemistry laboratory, ten years working in the food safety management departments, I inspected and tested more than two thousand food and water samples each year. I saw a lot of chemicals, pesticides, and toxic preservatives remaining in the food, vegetables, drinking water, and the packaged foods we use every day. In addition, the more I researched, the more I saw that chemicals were present everywhere in our lives from eating, drinking, bathing, washing, supplements and medical treatment. This may be one of the reasons for the rate of people suffering from diseases, especially cancer, increasing in this day and age. This has made me think about how to reduce the amount of chemicals in food and daily activities so we can live more healthily.
Since 2015, I have researched and processed many food products, cosmetics and medicinal products from herbs and medicinal plants. An Farm started with a small factory at my home. After a while, I realized I needed safe and nutritious organic ingredients for processing.
Therefore, in 2016, I started growing organically with a small garden behind the house, which gradually expanded. By 2018, An Farm Hoi An was officially built in May, operating by September. At the end of 2020, because of the prolonged Covid epidemic and the unsafe environment around the farm, I closed the farm. Then in March 2023, I started rebuilding the farm in a new location, officially reopening in July.
During the years of the Covid epidemic, I had time to research a lot about herbs and medicinal plants around the world, so now An Farm is an organic farm growing a variety of Asian and European herbs, each with its own unique flavor. The taste, nutritional value, and medicinal value are all unique and different. Currently, I am still researching and learning to develop and expand the farm, develop more An Farm’s products and services so that they become more diverse and meaningful.
